	Cedarwood Oil Profile General - Cedarwood Atlas Cedrus atlantica is a pyramid-shaped majestic evergreen tree, up to 130 ft. high. The wood itself is hard and strongly aromatic because of the high percentage of essential oil it contains, which is where the resinoid, absolute, and essential oil is obtained by steam distillation. The oil was used by the ancient Egyptians for embalming, cosmetics, and perfumery, while in the East it has been used for infections, as a preservative, and as an incense.
	Cedarwood Oil Uses - Cedarwood Altas essential oil, Cedrus atlantica, has been used for acne, dandruff, dermatitis, eczema, fungal infections, greasy skin, hair loss, skin eruptions, ulcers, arthritis, rheumatism, bronchitis, catarrh, congestion, coughs, cystitis, nervous tension and stress-related conditions.
	Cedarwood Atlas oil, Cedrus atlantica, blends well with the following essential oils: rosewood, bergamot, boronia, cypress, calamus, cassie, costus, jasmine, juniperberry, neroli (orange blossom), mimosa, labdanum, olibanum, clary sage, vetiver, rosemary, ylang ylang, and other oriental and flower bases.
	Cedarwood Oil Cautions - nontoxic, nonirritant, nonsensitizing. Avoid during pregnancy.
	Cedarwood Oil Properties - antiseptic, antiputrescent, antiseborrheic, aphrodisiac, astringent, diuretic, expectorant, fungicidal, mucolytic, sedative(nervous), stimulant(circulatory).

Never use Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils as a substitute for necessary medical care. Keep oils tightly closed and out of reach of children. Never ingest undiluted essential oils. Don't use undiluted oils on your skin. Dilute oils with vegetable oils, one to three drops per tablespoon. Keep oils away from eyes and mucous membranes. Skin test oils before using. Dilute a small amount and apply to the skin of your inner arm or back of knee. Do not use if redness or irritation occurs. If redness, burning, itching or irritation occur, stop using oil immediately. Use less rather than more.
