bullet Roman Chamomile Oil Profile General - Chamomile Roman this creeping chamomile, a nearly prostrate perennial, puts forth a stem from 3-12 inches tall, from which bi- to tripinnatipartite lacy leaves grow. The small flower heads, which grow singly at the ends of the shoot tips, consist of a corona of white ligulate, daisy-like flowers and many (up to 400) yellow tubular disk flowers at the center. It blooms in late spring through late summer. The whole plant has an apple-like scent.

bullet Roman Chamomile Oil Uses - Roman Chamomile essential oil, Chamaemelum nobile,  is used in pharmaceutical antiseptic ointments and in carminative, antispasmodic and tonic preparations. Extensively used in cosmetics, soaps, detergents, high-class perfumes, hair and bath products. Used as a flavour ingredient in most major food categories, including alcoholic and soft drinks. It is current in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia for the treatment of dyspepsia, nausea, anorexia, dysmenorrhea and specifically flatulent dyspepsia associated with mental stress.

bullet Roman Chamomile oil,  Chamaemelum nobile, blends well with the following essential oils: bergamot, clary sage, oakmoss, jasmine, labdanum, neroli (orange blossom), rose, Geranium and lavender.

bullet Roman Chamomile Oil Cautions - Do not use the essential oil during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant, Non-toxic and non-irritant; can cause dermatitis in some individuals.

Never use Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils as a substitute for necessary medical care. Keep oils tightly closed and out of reach of children. Never ingest undiluted essential oils. Don't use undiluted oils on your skin. Dilute oils with vegetable oils, one to three drops per tablespoon. Keep oils away from eyes and mucous membranes. Skin test oils before using. Dilute a small amount and apply to the skin of your inner arm or back of knee. Do not use if redness or irritation occurs. If redness, burning, itching or irritation occur, stop using oil immediately. Use less rather than more.
