Chaste Tree Oil Profile General -
Vitex (also called Chaste Tree, Chasteberry or Monk's
Pepper) is a genus of about 250 species of
shrubs and
trees from 1-35 m tall, native to tropical and subtropical
regions throughout the world. In the past widely included in the
family Verbenaceae, it has recently been transferred to the
family Lamiaceae (Labiatae).

Chaste Oil Uses - It is sometimes used
for the treatment of PMS. It is believed to be an antaphrodisiac, hence the name
"chaste tree", and is used as a medicinal plant by many herbalists.
