Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil Profile General - Cinnamon a tropical evergreen growing up to 15m high, with strong branches and thick scabrous bark with young shoots speckled greeny-orange. It has shiny green, leathery leaves, small white flowers and oval bluish-white berries. The leaves have a spicy smell when bruised. Essential oil extracted by water or steam distillation from the leaves and twigs.

Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil Uses - Cinnamon Leaf essential oil,
Cinnamomum verum, has a warm, spicy aroma. It it germicidal, antiseptic, and antifungal. Add a bit of cinnamon
leaf, orange and clove to a diffuser or potpourri to purify the air and add a touch of warmth to your home. STRONG skin irritant! Not recommended for direct application to the skin. Avoid cinnamon bark oil as it is considered to be hazardous. Best used in a diffuser or inhaled. It is a physical and emotional stimulant and gets the blood and mind in motion. Affect the libido and is known as an aphrodisiac, as well as an antidepressant. Aroma in a room reduces drowsiness, irritability, pain and frequency of headaches. Makes a warming liniment to relax tight muscles, ease joint pain, menstrual cramps, and increase circulation.

Cinnamomum verum, is relatively non-toxic; possible irritant because of the cinnamaldahyde. Eugenol is
irritant to the mucous membranes: use in moderation. Can be a skin irritate, redden, and even burn sensitive skin so use carefully (no more than half
drop per bath) Avoid in cosmetics and during pregnancy.

Never use therapeutic quality Essential Oils as a substitute for necessary medical care. Keep oils tightly closed and out of reach of children. Never ingest undiluted essential oils. Don't use undiluted oils on your skin. Dilute oils with vegetable oils, one to three drops per tablespoon. Keep oils away from eyes and mucous membranes. Skin test oils before using. Dilute a small amount and apply to the skin of your inner arm or back of knee. Do not use if redness or irritation occurs. If redness, burning, itching or irritation occur, stop using oil immediately. Use less rather than more.
